Gina Beck is an English actress and singer known primarily for her roles in leading musical theatre productions. She is currently playing the role of Glinda in the musical Wicked at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, London. In 2010 Gina finished two years playing the lead role of Christine Daaé in Cameron Mackintosh's production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majestys Theatre, London. Gina has a BA Acting from the prestigious Central School of Speech and Drama.

 

Gina took over the principal role of Christine Daaé in The Phantom of the Opera in September 2008. Since that time she has also performed "The Phantom of the Opera" duet with Ramin Karimloo at Andrew Lloyd Webber's 60th birthday concert in Hyde Park. She has sung the duet "All I Ask of You" with co-star Simon Bailey on the Grand Staircase of the actual Opera Garnier in Paris (where Phantom is set) for CBS Television and the same song on the Alan Titchmarsh show on ITV1.

Gina also recently performed as part of the Les Misérables ensemble at the Royal Variety Performance 2010 and was a soloist in the 25th Anniversary Concert of Les Misérables at the O2 arena which has subsequently been released on DVD.

In April 2011 Gina revisited the role of Kate Hardcastle in Charles Hart and Howard Goodall's musical comedy 'The Kissing Dance' at The Jermyn Street Theatre. She originally performed this role in the musical's premiere performances with the National Youth Music Theatre between 1998 and 2000. The production was extremely successful and garnered Gina an Offie Nomination for best female performance. In June 2011 Gina played Maria Von Trapp in The Sound of Music produced by Bronowski Productions in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In September 2011 Gina played the role of Letitia Hardy in 'The Belle's Stratagem' by Hannah Cowley at the Southwark Playhouse. One of the greatest hits of the Georgian stage was given its first major London revival in a production directed by Jessica Swale.

On December 12th 2011 Gina opened in the hit musical Wicked at The Apollo Victoria Theatre playing the lead role of Glinda. She finished performances on November 16th 2013. Shortly after on December 16th 2013 she made her North American debut playing Glinda on the 1st National tour of Wicked, Gina continues touring until 2014.

Since graduation, Gina has had a number of small cameo roles on TV (Doctors, Sherlock Holmes and The Case of the Silk Stocking, etc.) and has done voice-over work for English Language teaching recordings produced by Pearson Education.

Gina performed in opera and operetta during 2005 at Holland Park Opera (Puccini's Madame Butterfly and Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore) and the Buxton Opera House (Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore and The Sorcerer.) In 2006 Gina Beck toured South Africa in The Merry Widow and in June of that year she made her West End debut as Cosette in Les Misérables at the Queens Theatre. She performed the role in the 21st anniversary celebration concert of Les Misérables which was broadcast on BBC Radio 2. After a year, Gina left Les Mis to create the lead role of Rebecca Warshowsky for the world première of the new musical Imagine This at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth in July 2007.

At Christmas time that year Gina appeared as Wendy Darling in the Rachel Kavanaugh production of Stiles and Drewe's Peter Pan the Musical at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
